Pearly Tan–M. Thinaah have long been praised for their grit, and in 2025 that consistency translated into their most financially rewarding year yet.
The world No. 2 wrapped up their regular season by capturing their third World Tour title of the year, and have opted to skip the Australian Open to fully prepare for next month’s World Tour Finals in Hangzhou.
Across 17 World Tour tournaments, the pair earned a remarkable US$304,915 (about RM1.26 million) — the highest annual prize money total of their careers. Their earnings were built on a season of extraordinary consistency, producing three titles, three runners-up finishes, four semi-finals, and five quarter-finals.
Strong performances at every level — from Super 300 to Super 1000 — kept them in the top bracket of earners. However, the duo could have amassed even more; runners-up at the Indonesia Open and semi-finalists at the China Open, they narrowly missed out on the tour’s richest cheques. Winning either event would have pushed their season total past US$500,000 (RM2.07 million).
These figures exclude rewards from their historic silver medal at the Paris World Championships, which triggered additional payouts from Shakam, BAM, sponsors, and corporate supporters.
The 2025 World Tour Finals have increased their prize purse to a record US$3 million (RM12.45 million). Doubles champions will take home US$252,000 (RM1.04 million), with all qualifiers guaranteed at least US$21,000 (RM87,150). By qualifying, Pearly-Thinaah have secured the minimum payout, but a title run could elevate their season into multi-million-ringgit territory — potentially one of the most lucrative campaigns ever by a Malaysian pair.
