Pearly-Thinaah once again proved why they are regarded as Malaysia’s strongest women’s doubles pair after staging a remarkable comeback to win the women’s doubles final at the Kumamoto Badminton Super 500 tournament today. The victory earned them the championship prize of US$37,525 (about RM155,000) and marked their third World Tour title of the season.
Dubbed the “Queens of Comebacks” by fans, Pearly-Thinaah secured their third Super 500 title of the year, adding to their triumphs at the Thailand Open and Arctic Open.
After the match, Pearly Tan said: “The match was very close. Every game was intense, and our opponents played very strongly. We are very happy with today’s win.”
Thinaah shared that their success came from mutual trust and motivation: “We supported and encouraged each other every moment.”
National women’s doubles head coach Rosman Razak praised the pair’s determination: “I want to congratulate Pearly-Thinaah. They went through many challenges this week.”
