The upcoming Syed Modi Indian International (Nov 25–30) promises an exciting showdown as Lee Zii Jia and Viktor Axelsen are both confirmed to compete for the first time at the event.
For Zii Jia, this marks his final appearance of the 2025 season, following the Australian Open (Nov 18–23). The 27-year-old is continuing his comeback after recovering from a lower back injury earlier this month.
He had earlier withdrawn from the European circuit, skipping the Denmark, French, and Hylo Opens to focus on rehabilitation. After an early exit at the China Masters, Zii Jia aims to end the season on a strong note.
Meanwhile, world No. 1 Viktor Axelsen is also looking to regain top form after pulling out of the Hylo Open due to fatigue.
Malaysia will also feature Aidil Sholeh and Jacky Kok in the men’s singles category.
