National shuttler Justin Hoh admits he’s still battling trauma from his Achilles tendon tear two years ago — a fear that resurfaced in the Macau Open final when a leaking AC caused repeated court mopping.
The world No. 37, who fell 15-21, 5-21 to Indonesia’s Alwi Farhan, said the slippery court shook his confidence and movement.
“Since surgery, I know the tendon could snap again. That risk is always in my head,” he said.
Justin is now seeking help from a sports psychologist alongside his coaches to overcome the mental block.
Despite the loss, reaching the Macau Open final was a positive step forward, and Justin is determined to bounce back stronger.
